This page is to identify churches that we consider unhealthy. This list will grow in time. If you belong to a church on this list or any church that affiliates with churches on this list, we believe that you are in an unhealthy church. Check our healthy church list and seek to fellowship with one of them. If your church is on this list and you disagree, we are open to discuss why, but it may not be removed.

FALSE TEACHERS (IF ANY OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN IN YOUR CHURCH MORE THAN ONCE LEAVE)
Tu Tu Bismark
This is not an exhaustive list. I would also recommend that you stay away from DayStar and TBN. Both are housed with false teachers and their affiliates. These individuals on the list, have a serious problem with the Gospel proclaimed in scripture and my fear is that many of them our not really Christians at all. We don’t know for sure but there is a huge possibility

Thanks for this post. I spend a great deal of my time telling my members and my students to avoid these charlatans. They do not preach the whole counsel of God. They spend their time bilking people out of their money.
Thanks for a good starting list.

Thanks Sir. I also appreciate what you do in the blog world. God bless.
That goes for the “Work” aka Word Channel. They’re big on promoting liars, diviners, warlocks…on that cable channel. One “Profit” sells prophetic candles and have a “prophetic circle” (witchcraft) that’ll pray for a price of $3,000!!
I refuse to look at ANY OF THAT TRASH ON TV.
Hello. This is a good site. I appreciate that you openly name these charlatans and their “ministries.”
When Mike Murdock had an appeal this year for 200 or 300 people (I forget the actual number) to call in with a certain donation because “the Spirit told him” to solicit that many with that specific amount; I called the 800 number to ask that if I gave, which number would I be, because I didn’t want to go beyond what the Lord had said. And, after all, they should not either.
The woman was caught off guard by my request. She told me that she did not have that information on her computer, but to hold on and she would find out. I was put on hold for about 5 minutes, then disconnected. LOL.
I had also called the Inspiration Network (David Cerullo) last year when they had a telethon. Steve (God is Fixin’
Munsey was their pitch man. He said the Spirit said the same thing “So many people were to give so much.” I called them to and asked the same question. I also asked that if the 301st person calls to contribute do they refuse to take their donation. The little old lady who answered the phone, who sounded so sweet and sincere said “You know, that is a great point. If the Lord said so many, then they should not take any more than that.”
So, I stay on the lookout for these specific appeals, that is, whenever I have the stomach to watch any of them.

Mr. Woods. I am a new visitor to your site. I am quite interested in your list of churches to stay away from. WOuld it be possible to have a paragraph for each explaining a brief background or synopsis of why these churches are on the list? I few of them are obvious. Others I’m vaguely familiar with but would appreciate somewhere to go to understand why these places are dangerous. Thanks!
Hello New Visitor, let me know which ones you are interested in and I can tell you. I don’t think one paragraph could do them justice; however, the criteria was mostly around: Word of Faith Name it Claim it Doctrine, An erroneous and blatant proclaimation of the nature of the Godhead (i.e oneness pentecostalism or modalism), affliations with false religions (Saddleback and his affiliation with Mormonism) and finally a consistent pattern of unfaithfully handling the scriptures for personal gain (rather popularity or prosperity). Some of these churches have all of these and some have just one; however, any of these automatically disqualifies you.
Please note these are National Ministries, this is not exhausitve but the most popular.
Yes this is sad, another one is Don Stewart and Peter Popoff and so and so and, yikes, is there anyone out there genuine anymore, welcome to the last says springs to mind.
See http://www.4hurtingchristians.com/don_stewart_and_the_green_miracle_handkerchiefs.html and this will tell you the truth, in my research I’ve found a few links worthy of visting.
Also on my site now in about the African scams as well from Nigeria and Ghana and Ivory Coast and so on.
We need to do all we can, so thanks for the link here, however having said that, I feel sorry for those older ones and people that do not have a computer or internet access and are watching these channels, which I’ve pulled all now off my christian tv web page bar one, who are being duped and have no way of knowing.
It would be more helpful if you could clarify WHY these are bad churches.

thank you mr. woods fro the list. you know there are others(ken ulmer, noel jones, billy ingram, charles blake, wellington boone, deforest soaries, a.r. ernard, etc) thse brothas have female ministers, no power theology & compromised everything for the all mighty dollar.
The one who invokes my righteous anger the most is Dr. Leroy Thompson and his “you ain’t rich because you don’t have faith” message. He preaches about his possessions not the Gospel.
Hi, noticed that all churches and leaders on the site are Word of Faith Pentecostal (and as someone who was educated at Oral Roberts University and seen most of these people first hand, I agree with your assessment). The one glaring exception, not WoF, is Warren. Obviously your concerns with him are much different. Have you outlined somewhere on your site why you include him in this particular list?
It really stems from a few quotes by him. One being “I don’t divde of small doctinal issues” as it relates to why Mormons and Non-messianc Jews are allowed to be trained on growing their churches. This seems to be really, really bad, and actually any pastor who believes that we and Mormons only have small doctinal issues either 1. Shouldn’t be a pastor because he has no clue about what the Christian faith is 2. Doesn’t believe the Gospel 3. Doesn’t care. Either of the three makes visiting his church a really bad deal. Let me know if I need to clairfy more.
I am elated that you took the time to make this list. I see the popular comment, “What makes these churches bad” and I will concur that you should have maybe a link that give the mose important tips. I for one agree with your list but my prayer would be that we as christians would not be so easily persuaded by EVERY WIND AND DOCTRINE.
One last thing, I drove past a Jehova Witness gathering at a local civic center and there was not even enogh room to walk between cars. I asked my Apostle why is that and he said, “Remember that the bible already speaks about this and its coming into flourition. People would rather conform to a false system rather than be transformed by the renewing of ther mind.” God Bless you and may God take you to another level in Him.

I think this is the most inappropriae pae that I’ve ever seen in a christian website. I pray that you’ll ask God if this is from Him to post up church that you call, “Bad”. You’re no better than anyone mentioned above, we all fall short of the glory of God and it’s not our place to judge. You boast of yourselves higher than you ought to. That’s what the Word of God says. I already left a comment somewhere else. Read it and pray to see if what you’re doing is really from God or is it just your own idea to post such a judging, pious list! Pray for them if you disagre, but don’t knock down what the Lord Jesus Christ has established. Let him be the one to bring the judgment to that work!!!!!!
Stephen you have made one false comment and 2 false assumptions. Let me help you. I am under the impression that either you have some emotional attachement to these false teachers or you are really young in the faith and have no discernment as it relates to false teaching and biblical faithfulness. So here they are:
1. In Matthew 7 Jesus says this:
Now how is that I can tell if this tree is bad and they are false prophets? I must make a judgment call.
2. You assume that I haven’t prayed to see what I am doing is the will of God and since what I am doing disagrees with what you believe the will of God is, then you assume I am out of God’s will when in fact it could be you (not to mention 99% of orthodox Christians belive they are false prophets also)
3. You assume that I have not prayed for them and that I don’t love them. This is another false assumption. I would say again that you lack some wisdom by not first contacting me and asking what exactly brought me to this point.
Before you leave another comment on someone else’s page you may want to work through these issues. Finally you really struggle in the discernment area. I could send you a couple of books if you like or we can dialouge over the phone if you like. However I am troubled that you come to the defense of these false teachers.
In Christ,
Lionel Woods
