Anyone who follows this blog or any of the previous ones, understand that I don’t pick on Rick Warren. For the most part he seems to be nice guy who I differ with on some issues, but mostly on ecclesiology. I don’t think he is a false teacher/prophet. I think he understands and articulates the Gospel from a historic perspective, so for that he is my brother.
However, ecclesiology effects the way we as believers minister to one another and how we worship God. So for me ecclesiology plays a huge part in the believers life. With that said I will insert a link.

Listen to the purpose of the Card and let me know what you think. I believe this is the epitome of Corporation style churches that plague the body of Christ today and instead of having genuine relationships with you and having to do life with you my shepherding of you is reduced to a card you swipe. Good technology? I think not. Not to mention the card also is a “time, talent, treasure” monitor that can show your leadership and you how faithful you are to the corporation church!
Anyway listen to it let me know what you think.
“…”Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.”
Nah….. Just “bling in”!
(Seriously, after rinsing the bile out of my mouth, and regaining composure, I still can’t think of much to say! Honestly, this clip is itself a more damning indictment against the institutional church than anything I’ve come across. How people cannot see the insanity here is simply beyond me…)
I can’t stop laughing at the guy in the above post. LOL I am really tickled at him. and I don’t know why…okay back to the post…
It’s a sad day when we have reached the point where ministry leadership has been reduced to a swipe. And did you hear the guy in the background who was amen-ing him like it was the best idea he’d ever heard?
Now, I don’t have any qualms with traditional ecclesiology so long as it doesn’t conflict with scripture and I like structured church. But when I can’t tell the difference between corporate America and corporate worship, something is definitely wrong…
This is simply a reflection of our culture. People are treated as cases, cards, and numbers. This is very unfortunate for the Western societies. Moreover, it is now introduced in American churches. So help us God!
Tragedy!
Scan in and out? To track where you were and when? Not security? A check-in device? Why does it matter who didn’t show up? You will be able to know who you can burn-out because they are the ones who volunteer. Sounds like they what to have some type of big brother to try and reach out to the mass of people. I tell you this much I would not use it. I am accountable to God.
this is sick. i am deeply embarrassed for the members of that church. whatever happened to personal relationships?
now i remember the reasons why i dropped out the organized church.
Aside from the spiritual abuse my family has suffered,
the money that was “lost”,
besides the sexual abuse done by the “youth pastor” on a young child of Christ….
i could go on but i truly don’t want to be associated with the Body as it is portrayed anymore.
ill stick to the streets, the bars, and the places I feel the Lord would have visited. I am still accountable to several strong christian men. I still grow and study the scripture in formal as well as informal settings. I just cant do this big salary, big building, big money thing while there are people that need food, shelter, rehab, and hugs..
i just dont fit in anymore.
Shalom is the thing, but loose all the bling…
